Turn your camera into a document scanner

No scanner? No problem. This document scanner online uses your webcam or phone camera to capture paper documents, then straightens and cleans them up so they look like proper scans. Capture as many pages as you need, put them in order and download a single PDF, ready to email, upload or archive.

How it works

  1. Capture. Lay the page flat in good light and press Capture page. On a phone, the back camera is used automatically.
  2. Straighten. Drag the four corner handles onto the corners of the paper. The page is flattened with perspective correction, so even a photo taken at an angle comes out square.
  3. Enhance. Choose Enhanced, Grayscale, B&W or Original. B&W uses adaptive thresholding for crisp text even with uneven lighting.
  4. Export. Download one page as a JPG, or every page as a multi-page PDF.

Tips for sharper scans

Light matters most: daylight from a window, with no shadow from your phone or hand across the page. Put the paper on a darker surface so the edges stand out. Hold the camera parallel to the page and fill the frame. With a webcam, a higher resolution helps. Check what yours supports with the resolution test.

Private paperwork stays private

Bank letters, IDs, contracts and receipts never leave your device. All processing happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

FAQ

Document Scanner FAQ

How do I scan a document with my camera?

Start the camera, hold the page flat and press “Capture page”. Drag the four corner handles onto the corners of the paper, choose a scan look, and add more pages if you need them. Then download everything as one PDF.

Can I scan documents from photos I already took?

Yes. Use “Add images” to load photos from your device. They go through the same crop and enhance steps.

Which mode should I use?

“Enhanced” brightens the paper and boosts contrast while keeping colour, and suits most documents. “Grayscale” is good for printed text. “B&W” gives crisp black text on white, ideal for forms and receipts. “Original” keeps the photo as it is.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. Cropping, enhancement and PDF creation all happen in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, which makes it suitable for private paperwork.
